Doña Tules Single Barrel Mezcals
HOW WE WORK
We purchase small lots of the highest quality Mezcal, Raicilla, and Bacanora made by tiny traditional producers throughout Mexico.
We bring them up the same ancient "Turquoise Trail" trade route used for a thousand years to connect Northern New Mexico with the Southern Mexican heartlands. We age them in highest quality French and American oak in Santa Fe, New Mexico for at least eighteen months, then release them, single barrel by single barrel.
50% of our profits will be returned to non-profits:
Doña Tules Single Barrel Mezcals honors the artesanal producers who make our mezcal, raicilla and bacanora, and supports and promotes their traditional way of life. We return 25% of our profits to local community organizations chosen in consultation with our producers, and 25% to thewisdomarchive.com, a youtube archive and 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to the celebration and preservation of traditional culture.
We make short documentaries about our producers, their villages, and their cultures:
Which they can use as they see fit to promote themselves and their products, and where you can meet the people responsible for our miraculous single barrel mezcals.
Please meet the producer behind Barrels 01, 02, and 03, Edgar Gonzalez:
ABOUT DOÑA TULES
Doña Tules was an infamous saloon and gambling hall owner in Santa Fe, New Mexico during the mid 1800’s. Incredibly astute in business, a truly liberated woman, and widely known as the best Three Card Monte dealer in the Wild West, she was also one of the first to bring barrels of Mexican agave spirits* up the ancient “Turquoise Trail” to serve in her establishment.
